
EKG Certification Course
Become an electrocardiograph technician (EKG Technician) at Florida Medical & Aesthetic International School (FLMAIS) the new name of Florida Medical College and get a National Certification and you will be ready to aid doctors in the diagnostic of a cardiovascular disorder or heart problem.
Admission Requirements:
Applicants for admission must possess a high school diploma or GED, and 18 years.
Prospective students must complete a formal application to be accepted by the school.
This course accredited the participants with 4 credit hours in our Medical Assistant Associate Degree Program with a term of 60 clock hours.
Tuition payment is due, in full, on or before the first day of class. Any student who is unable to pay the tuition and fees in full may arrange a payment plan to be paid weekly.
Registration can be done by fax, phone, mail or online. Esthetician may take this course as part of the Medical Esthetician Certification course.

EKG Certification Course Description:
This course will teach the student:
1- identify the cardiovascular system
2- legal and ethical responsibilities of an EKG aide
3- maintain a safe environment
4- maintain the EKG equipment
5- three types of lead systems
6- proper lead placement
7- perform a 12 lead EKG
8- perform a rhythm strip
9- calculate the QRS complex
10- PR interval, trace and mount an EKG strip
11- recognize a cardiac emergency as seen on the EKG
12- verify the requisition order
13- prepare patient for EKG testing and use precautions required to perform an EKG.

EKG Courses General Information
HIPAA/Blood Borne Pathogens is required to this course. Students who have successfully taken HWTWK01 Healthcare Worker Basics course within the past calendar year may waive the HIPAA/Blood Borne Pathogens course.
EKG Course and Certification Requirements
Refund policy states that student must withdraw enrollment prior to the start of class for a refund. No refunds are given after the start of class.
Class attendance is considered mandatory for all courses within this certificate program. A National Certification test is recommended after participants complete the course requirements and graduate from this course.
